Harry Kewell (42nd minute penalty) and Milan Baros (49th minute goal) were unable to prevent Galatasaray from a home defeat against German side Hamburg.
The result from the first leg was 1 - 1 going into the deciding leg at the Ali Sami Yen Stadium in Istanbul.
Kewell and Baros put the Turks 2 - 0 up on the night and 3 - 1 on aggregate. But goals from Jose Guerrero (2) and Ivica Olic in the 90th minute, put the tie beyond doubt sending the German side into the next round.
